Nominated for:
Customer Service

Husband and wife team, Vince and Victoria, founded unisex hair salon, The Cutting Room in Knaphill, in 2012. Their vision was to build a customer-centric salon that delivered a high-end service at an affordable price. A luxurious ‘home-from-home’ for their customers that left them feeling (and looking) fabulous.

This family business employs a team of eight, which includes four family members: Vince, an ambitious hair stylist and winner of the South East Hairdresser of the year award, runs most aspects of the business including the in-house training programme; Victoria runs the ever-important front of house and is a nail specialist; Victoria’s mother helps with the accounts; and Vince and Victoria’s son is the newest recruit to the business.

The Cutting Room’s dedication to customer service has paid off in the swaths of loyal customers and online followers who rave about the salon’s high standards, or, in their own words, the ability of this business to ‘get it right,’ every time.

“Another 5-star experience at The Cutting Room. From the service on the phone to the welcome I received walking through the door, this salon gets it right. Highly recommend to everyone.” Tracy Mackenzie, 2017.

To make life even easier for their customers, The Cutting Room installed a downloaded app linked to Phorest that provides customers with 1-click booking, keeps a history of their treatments and notifies them when they have accrued enough ‘treat points.’

It came as no surprise when, just five years after opening, The Cutting Room won Phorest’s Client Experience Award 2017 for its 5-star customer service. This accolade is a source of pride for this husband-and-wife team who have invested a

n incredible amount of effort and money to ensure their customers leave happy.

But it’s not just the customers that enjoy their time at The Cutting Room – their employees’ do too. The company has experienced exceptionally low staff turnover since its inception. In fact, every employee cites that it’s ‘like being part of a family,’ which, indeed, it is!
