Nominated for:
Family business of the year

The high-quality support we provide could not be delivered without our highly skilled and committed staff. We are proud of our employee stability; with the attrition of just 1-2% and absence of 6-8%, against national averages for this sector of around 35% and we are proud of our Gold Investors in People Award. A recent statement by a Social Worker from Nottingham Council said we delivered the best service he had seen in 23 years.

We develop our staff and have many examples of people who have progressed their careers here – not least our MD who started as a support worker.

We pride ourselves on exemplary service delivery, with the people we support being the heart of and co-producing everything we do. With first-hand (family) experience of the difficulty experienced by disabled young people, our owner became a Social Worker to make a difference, before going on to establish the business in 2000. This first-hand experience was the foundation of many of our services and as the business grew, other young people created further motivations to do even more to improve the lives of people who are disadvantaged in society, due to their physical or cognitive disabilities or complex health needs.

Our services are built around the whole ‘Local Offer’; supporting Local Authorities in respect of the central government requirement to provide a range of services, tailored to the needs of disabled children and young people and their families. Most organisations only deliver specific parts of the offer, but we strive to provide a full seamless continuum of services for young people aged 0-25. With a single point of access and dedicated staff able to provide support in any way and any setting, avoiding disturbance and stress for individuals and enabling a more ordinary life to be experienced through extraordinary service delivery. This takes constant innovation; re-thinking what we do behind the scenes so it feels easy. Everyone deserves a childhood and to move on into independence – this takes innovation every day as one size does not fit all where people are concerned!
