Tell us about your family business (What you do, how you started, who’s involved etc)
Greg Rowe Limited spans two generations and includes not one, but two ‘Gregs’.  After a lifetime of designing kitchen and bathroom taps, Greg Snr, now the company’s Chairman, wasn’t quite ready to turn off his flow of good ideas…

Ever the entrepreneur and vetoing retirement, he founded Greg Rowe Limited and today works alongside his eldest son, Greg, who is the managing director, his youngest son, Todd – also a director – and his wife, marketing director, Alex Rowe. Designing and manufacturing one game-changing, commercially successful product is an achievement in itself. But designing two such products – and growing the businesses that support them – is something else altogether. However, that is exactly what Greg Rowe Snr and his family have achieved.

In 1991, Greg Rowe Snr co-designed Triflow – the first kitchen tap to dispense hot, cold and filtered drinking water.  In 2015, Greg repeated the success – and established a new standard for kitchen tap functionality – by designing OMNI, the first 4-in-1 kitchen tap. More an appliance than a tap, OMNI delivers hot, cold, filtered cold and filtered boiling water from a single spout and holds multi-patents, globally.

What’s your proudest moment/biggest achievement as a family business?
The launch of OMNI was a big moment for us; Precision manufactured from the stainless steel at the company’s own factory in Cawston, OMNI has elevated kitchen tap design and functionality to another level of sophistication. Dispensing four flows of water from a single spout, OMNI is a design masterpiece.  In addition to making hot drinks instantaneous, it can also be used to blanch vegetables, cook pasta and noodles, makeup baby milk formula, degrease pans and even fill hot water bottles… to name but a few purposes.

What do you love about being a family business?
We love – and are incredibly proud – of the culture of innovation within our business.  It is a defining characteristic of our family business and best of all, it’s something that extends across the business in its entirety.  Design apprentices that started their careers with Greg Rowe Snr have returned to work for Greg Rowe Limited because they value the importance of being truly allowed to design, innovate and to be the best they can be.  That our family business enables individuals – whether their surname is Rowe or not – to do that, is very special.
