Family Business of the Year
We have a rich heritage and are almost 100 years old. In ten years we have grown from a £3m to £5.4m company, maintaining strong margins and healthy profits. We support manufacturing in the UK (approximately 50% of our jigsaw
puzzles are produced here) ‘Bringing people together’ underpins everything we do. We aim to achieve this always through our products, communication and people management. We celebrate the strengths of our team and empower them to do their jobs, rewarding them for their efforts with a profit related bonus scheme and other benefits.
As a result our team are hardworking and loyal; many with more than 10 years’ service. One of our Sales Agents has been selling Gibsons products for almost 50 years, taking over from his father before him. We believe in giving something back and are currently supporting local children’s charity, Jigsaw4U. This year, our support included a Puzzleathon, and a £10,000 donation.
In recent years we have partnered with other great British brands such as the National Trust, Downton Abbey, Marmite and the RSPCA. Gibsons puzzles and games have won prestigious awards such as Best New Toy at Toy Fair and The Daily Telegraph’s Game of the Year. We champion the small independent retailer; do our utmost to provide them with a level playing field against national retail chains so that they too can continue to thrive for generations to come, including pioneering a Gibsons loyalty scheme only available to independent retailers.
We work extremely hard to adhere to our values and transact business in an ethical manner. We are a solutions-focused company and are not satisfied with just good enough. We are perceived as larger than we really are. As one of the leading suppliers of jigsaw puzzles in the UK, we surprise people with how much 17 people achieve.
