The Carol Saunders Swim School is an independent, family-run business based in Selby which celebrated its 30th year in business last year. Borne out of a love of swimming and teaching swimming to children, the School was set up to bring the highest quality swimming lessons to North and West Yorkshire using professional knowledge and experiences. The Swim School is run by two generations of the Saunders family, with the third generation taking part in lessons regularly! The business continues to pride itself on delivering high standards of swimming tuition and coaching and its personable service to its customers of all ages.

The past 12 months have seen great success for the business as they have not only opened their new Hull, Upper Wharfedale and Stamford Bridge venues but have also launched their Franchising opportunities. Individuals can now run their own Carol Saunders Swim School in their own local territory and will receive exclusive rights to that area allowing them to succeed with an already well-established business model. With the recent media coverage, it is becoming increasingly apparent that swimming is not being taught across the UK in schools to the standards as it once was. The most recent survey from Swim England shows that only 36% of 11-year-olds are leaving primary school having reached the National Curriculum swimming and water safety standards. This has provided the business with a great opportunity to help spread their services, in turn helping to provide more and more people with the ever-important life skill of swimming.

The Carol Saunders Swim School offers lessons for all ages and abilities, from their Tiddlers Academy that teaches babies, to their junior and adult lessons, and to their competitive training and teacher training courses.
The business has increased both in revenue, profit, locations and staff over the past year and continues to grow significantly each month.

The Swim School consistently provides a positive impact on the local community with jobs, increasing income for community pools and helping to teach more people about water safety and how to swim, a life skill we all should have.
