Everyone relies on funeral directors to bring sensitivity and dignity to funeral arrangements, and those are two of the fundamental principles of independently owned and family managed Abbey Funeral Services Ltd. We are committed to ensuring that every family is supported throughout and beyond the funeral of their loved one.

Our business goes the extra mile for the community we serve. We founded and run a charity to support older bereaved people in west Kent, many of whom would be lonely and isolated following their bereavement, The charity runs six lunch clubs and two coffee and chat groups each month and supports around 100 older people, The business is also in the forefront of dementia action in the town. Chris Parker set up the Tonbridge dementia friendly community in 2015 and has achieved huge results across the town with many business signing up to become dementia friendly. Our high street premises have become a hub for residents wanting information about local dementia services and support.

Set up in 1983 by husband and wife team Chris and Jim Parker. During the early years Chris’s parents Ernie and Bess Savage both worked for the company as have various other members of the family from time to time. Joined by elder daughter Jo in 1996 who now takes care of the day to day operations leaving Chris to take care of corporate responsibilities, to conduct funerals  and company PR. Jim has now retired
